Actually, you're half wrong. You guys don't have a legal drinking age in the Netherlands, but there is a purchase age required, a bit of a loop hole. You have to 16+ to purchase alcohol that is no greater then 15%, but that restriction is removed when you're 18 which in case, you can purchase any percentage of alcohol, legally.
Uhhm yeah well I'm the required purchasing age :D
